====== QMX+ modifications and extension DRAFT (release 2026) ======

QMX+ is 160-6m multi-mode transceiver from [[http://qrp-labs.com/qmxp.html|QRP Labs]]

  * The basic modification is to replace the original aluminum box with a **3D printed [[https://www.printables.com/model/1541880-qmx-waterproof-rugged-box|Waterproof rugged box]]**
    * This modification allows you to use the **internal GPS antenna** as an extension and the **expandable bottom box** as a storage for parts needed for use in one common storage. For example, a modem, a telegraph key, an antenna, and so on.

  * Three extensions are also available
    - **Internal GPS antenna** of maximum built-in size for greater gain
    - Board expanding the functionality of
      * **USB-C power delivery** power input
      * battery power supply using **three 18650 LiPol** cells
      * **BMS**
      * battery **charger**
      * 12V default 9V optional (available only when powered externally from USB-PD or 13.8V, the internal battery is not used, nor is it charged)
      * power **filtering**
      * **audio amplifier** for internal speaker
    - **Rear panel** plate accessing new connectors and internal speaker mounting
