QMX+ modifications and extension DRAFT (release 2026)

QMX+ is 160-6m multi-mode transceiver from QRP Labs

• The basic modification is to replace the original aluminum box with a 3D printed Waterproof rugged box
  • This modification allows you to use the internal GPS antenna as an extension and the expandable bottom box as a storage for parts needed for use in one common storage. For example, a modem, a telegraph key, an antenna, and so on.

• Three extensions are also available
  1. Internal GPS antenna of maximum built-in size for greater gain
  2. Board expanding the functionality of
     • USB-C power delivery power input
     • battery power supply using three 18650 LiPol cells
     • BMS
     • battery charger
     • 12V default 9V optional (available only when powered externally from USB-PD or 13.8V, the internal battery is not used, nor is it charged)
     • power filtering
     • audio amplifier for internal speaker
