Decoder BCD to 16 (Yaesu band decoder) not only for antenna switch

This is simply but powerful decoder from BCD data input to 16 outputs, compatible with Yaesu BCD (Yaesu BCD decoder). You can use it everywhere you have less wires than you need and also with BCD (TTL) output devices (like Microham). You need only 4 wires and control up to 16 outputs. There is universal output driver. You can drive outputs by switching to GND or + Vcc (EXT) voltage. BCD inputs include RF and high voltage protection. Optional PTT input works as Hot Switch protection.

Parameters:

• Output current max. 500mA
• EXTernal voltage for relays with different voltage than 12V by jumper (max. 40V DC)
• Voltage drop for TBD driver typ. 0,2V for +12V input and 0,6V for BCD wires power input
• Voltage drop for ULN driver typ. 0,8V for +12V input and 1,3V for BCD wires power input
• Supply voltage 12 to 14 V DC
• Control voltage for BCD input is TTL compatible and up to 15V (min 2,6V for active HIGH)
• Low loss in switching drivers
• Universal output switching: to GND or + Vcc (driver IO + jumper)
• PTT hot switch protection isolated PTT to GND lock outputs

Connection of control cables and power supply:

• Power supply input

PTT hot switch protection:

• You can use this PTT input as Hot Switch protection
• Active when LOW

Output voltage:

• Output voltage for TBD driver
• +12 means supply voltage of BCD board
• EXT is external voltage - for relays with different voltage than 12 V (could be 5 or 24 V DC)

Output driver:

• Universal outputs - switching to GND or + voltage
• Easy to set by Jumper
• Easy to replace driver ULN (- out) / TBD (+ out)

Open collector device:

Devices with the open collector (like B26-PA RF2K-S) needs external pull up resistors picture

Example with 6-to-1:

• Need four (five) wires between controller and BCD-to-16 converter
• GND, (+12V) and three control wires
• Output must be with TBD drivers (+ out)

Example with PA BCD output:

• Compatible with OM-power amplifier Manual page 51 (ANT/BPF DB15)
• Need four (three) wires between controller and BCD-to-16 converter
